Women's Lacrosse for Beginners

Women's Lacrosse is "the fastest game on two feet." This sport requires teamwork and strategy. Women's Lacrosse is a less physical sport; women's lacrosse is more skill-based, which requires players to be more agile with more precise stick work. women's lacrosse plays with 12 people from each team: 11 field players and a goalie, so there should be a maximum of 24 players on the field at a time. these 12 girls make up a 1 4 3 4 formation of one goalie, 4 defenders, 3 midfielders, 4 attackers. There are a few different ways you can format the field, but this is the most standard. the goal of the field players is to use their sticks to cradle and pass the ball up the field and score on the 6x6x6 net at the other end of the field. The goalie's job is the use their stick and body to stop the ball from going into the net.

in order to have a successful season in lacrosse, you must have a good understanding of the fundamentals of lacrosse. cradling while running keeps the ball tucked in your stick. Dodging allows players to get around their defenders. Being able to accurately pass is also a big part of the game. Being able to pass with accuracy is important being passing is how you get the ball up and down the field. Communication and teamwork are big parts of these tools that players use, especially midfielders who play both offense and defense. Whether you're a beginner learning to handle the stick or a fan watching from the sidelines, understanding these basics makes the sport even more exciting to follow.
